SDGs FAIL

One of the most problematic goals is SDG №8: Decent work and economic growth. The goal targets 7% annual economic growth, among other myopic standards. Targeting growth, instead of balance in a resource-finite world, is a recipe for environmental degradation.

SDGs BINDING
No. The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are not legally binding.

LIMITATIONS
Another issue that is weakening the SDGs is the fact that corruption is rampant in poor countries. SDGs are aimed at lower income and poor countries as they need it the most. However, in these countries, corruption is often rampant. Funds that are given to these countries to help them achieve SDGs are being mismanaged.

SDGs BARRIORS
The six factors are lack of access to quality education, wide infrastructure gaps, social discrimination, shocks particularly climate-induced ones due to geographical location, various forms of insecurity and lack of quality and disaggregated data.

NEED OF SDGs
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), also known as the Global Goals, were adopted by the United Nations in 2015 as a universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure that by 2030 all people enjoy peace and prosperity
