Applications are invited for Project Fellow (Chemistry) Under DST Funded Project at BHU, Varanasi for the year 2022. The last date of application is 9 January.

Applications are invited for the post of Project Fellow in a Department of Science and Technology (DST) sponsored project (Project Code P-07/1250) entitled “Boosting the H2 Economy by Encapsulation Chemistry: Augmented Kinetics for Water Splitting” under the supervision of Dr. Somenath Garai, Department of Chemistry, Institute of Science, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi-221005, Uttar Pradesh, India.

The position is sanctioned up to Two years (from January 2022 to January 2024), but may be extended based on performance. The post is temporary and co-terminus with the project.

Eligibility

• Essential Qualifications: M. Sc. in Chemistry with at least 55% aggregate marks.
• Desirable Qualifications: Candidates with strong interest and having pre-experience in the field of Catalysis, Electrochemistry, Synthetic and Photo-chemistry are encouraged to apply and will thereby be preferred.
• Age Limit: The upper age limit and other selection criteria for this fellowship are as per rule of DST and government of India.

Interested and eligible candidates having strong motivation for research may send a complete biodata, photocopies of self-attested certificates as single PDF (starting from High School or equivalent to M.Sc. level), One page SOP and their Master’s thesis as separate PDF through e-mail at sgarai[at]bhu.ac.in within 21 days of the advertisement i.e., up to January 09, 2022.

Selection

Selection will be made on the basis of performance in the interview. No TA/DA will be provided for attending the interview.

Salary

INR 25,000/- p.m. Consolidated.
