Read 65 Lakh Books for Free on IIT Kharagpur’s National Digital Library App

IIT Kharagpur has created National Digital Library for students for all subjects.

The project, which was initiated by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, now boasts textbooks from eight state education boards, NCERT textbooks, previous exam papers of JEE, GATE, and UPSC, and research papers published from institutes like the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), audio-books and more.

• This is done to ensure that people utilize their lockdown period for reading. The ministry has given free access to 3,82,00, 000 books and periodicals for this purpose.
• IIT Kharagpur has developed a preparatory module for JEE available to students for free on the National Digital Library of India platform.
• It contains 4 crores 6O lakh books. Please share this information as much as possible for students to know & avail of this priceless facility for academic knowledge
• The books are available digitally so they can be accessed through any device like smartphones, tablets, computers. Students can visit the NDLI website https://www.ndl.gov.in/ or https://ndl.iitkgp.ac.in/ or log on to the NDLI mobile application for accessing the JEE preparation module from IIT Kharagpur.

NDLI was developed by IIT Kharagpur under the aegis of the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India in the year 2016 as a National Mission project. MHRD has been promoting various e-learning platforms since the academic activities have been restricted in educational institutions earlier this month due to the CoronaVirus outbreak. 

NDLI has been at the forefront of such e-learning platforms with over 4.8 crore content in more than 300 languages that can be viewed in 60+ formats apart from e-books (audiobooks, simulations, e-thesis, question papers, etc.). The platform has over 55 Lakh users.

In the motive of educating people, IIT Kharagpur is providing free textbooks for college students, school students as well as for preparation of government exams.
