About the Competition
We are excited to announce the first APS DSOFT Gallery of Soft Matter competition taking place at the APS March Meeting 2022! The Gallery is intended to showcase the aesthetic and elegance of soft matter systems, to be shared both with fellow researchers and the general public. The submissions are judged for their combination of striking visual qualities and scientific interest. This competition is distinct from the regular Soft Matter Poster competition, which focuses on more technical, scientific content. We are accepting poster or video submissions from teams led by students or postdocs.
- Posters or videos will be due on March 1st, 2022
- Register on or before by 5 pm EST on January 14, 2022
- Experimental or computational submissions in any subdiscipline related to soft matter are welcome.
- Posters and videos will be displayed during the APS March Meeting 2022 for the attendees to view and on the upcoming Gallery of Soft Matter website.
- Details the poster and video formats and on the final submission process will be communicated after January 14.
Winners will be announced at the APS March Meeting and will be invited to present their work as a talk at an invited DSOFT session at the APS March Meeting 2023 and have their submission highlighted in an editorial in Physical Review E and in Physics magazine. One of the video/poster winners will be used on T-shirts for the APS March Meeting 2023.
