Title: Pandemic to Endemic: What does it mean for Public Health Practice and Policy?

As the world experiences a surge in COVID-19 cases due to the widespread transmission of the SARS-CoV-2 variant, Omicron, there are dueling discourses in the public arena. Even as the surges stemming from the Omicron variant are occupying public attention, there are the beginnings of conversations on what a future with COVID-19, at least in the near long-term, will look like.

Through the webinar organized by Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health - India Research Center and Project SANCHAR titled ‘Pandemic to Endemic: What does it mean for Public Health Practice and Policy?’, we aim to understand the impact of the Omicron variant in India and across the world, but also to push the conversation to how to prepare for life with the pandemic in the near future, and what the implications are for public health practitioners and policymakers. 

The webinar will start this conversation with three of the world’s leading experts: Dr. William Hanage, Harvard T. H. Chan School of Public Health, Dr. Gagandeep Kang, Christian Medical College, Vellore, and Dr. C.S. Pramesh, Tata Memorial Hospital.
