The Film and Television Institute of India is a film institute under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting of the Government of India and aided by the Central Government of India.

Course Details

Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune, under its ‘Centre for Open Learning (CFOL)’ initiative, in association with National Film Development Corporation (National Film Archives of India) will be conducting Winter Film Appreciation course in online mode.

The contours of the Course will broadly be as under

• Travel back in time to meet the pioneers who invented cinema.
• Study the evolution of cinema and development of film language.
• Identify the wide spectrum of forms comprising screen arts.
• Examine the power of the medium and its relationship with the society.
• View & analyze timeless classics and modern masterpieces.
• Familiarized yourself with theoretical aspects of the film making process.
• Investigate the issues facing screen arts and form your own opinion.
• Explore contemporary cinema of India and the world.
• Meet some of the best known film professionals and enrich yourself from their knowledge.

Dates

4th December to 22nd December 2023 (15 Days, Monday to Friday, Saturday & Sunday will be holiday).

Timings

10am to 12 Noon & 4pm to 6pm  (04 hours every day) + 01 pm to 04 pm- general online film screening as per course requirement.

Number of Participants

70 (Course may not be conducted if there are less than 56 participants).

Age

18 Years & above as on 1st December 2023 (Participant born on or before 1st December 2006).

Educational Qualification

HSC (12th pass). In exceptional cases, 10th pass may be considered.

Online Platform

Google Classroom & Google Meet platform.

Medium of Instruction

English.

Course Fee

• For Indian Nationals: Rs 7,500/-
• For Foreigners including NRI, OCI etc. and also those Indian Nationals who are presently staying outside India: Rs 22,500/-

Course fee of selected participants will be non-refundable, non-transferrable, non-adjustable, etc. under any circumstances. Course fee of all the non – selected participants will be returned within 07 – 10 days of the course commencement.
