*Women and girls in science leadership a new era for sustainability

Leadership, which is a bedrock in sustaining the society is much more than one gender effort. It calls for the collaboration of women and girls in different aspects of leadership especially in science so as to be able to face this era's challenges.

Historically, women have faced many challenges as regards to gender inequality, exaggerated conception, and lack of access to resources and opportunities. This have hindered the progress of women. However, there have been a drastic shift towards gender inequality in science leadership. Women are now included in science leadership and it has brought innovation and fresh perspectives towards scientific problems.

Socially speaking, promoting gender inequality in science leadership brings about unity, harmony and oneness as it was meant to be. With important environmental issues such as pollution and resources depletion, we need all hands on deck. Women and girls in science leadership provide precedent perspectives that help tackle challenges more effectively.

Furthermore. When young girls see women leaders in science, they are more likely to believe in their own abilities and pursue educational and career opportunities in science fields. This does not only benefits individual girls but also society as a whole, as this will unlock the immense potential of an entire demographic.

Also, concerted effort from government, academia and private sector are essential; providing equally access to education, scholarships, mentoring and career development opportunities for women and girls in science which help to bridge the gender gap in science leadership.

In conclusion, by breaking down gender barriers and embracing diversity, we can harness the untapped potential of women and girls for they were not just created to live life, but to impact, contribute and with oneness drive progress towards a more sustainable future.
