 About NHRC


National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), India was established on October 12, 1993, under the Protection of Human Rights Act (PHRA), 1993, as a statutory body for the promotion and protection of human rights and to generate awareness in the country.


The Commission comprises a Chairperson and five Members, including a woman Member. It is supported by five substantive divisions: law, investigation, research, training, and administration, each having specialist officers as part of the secretariat headed by the Secretary General and Chief Executive Officer.


 Competition Details


The NHRC engages with the public for human rights advocacy through various competitions and events, such as its annual short film competition on human rights (since 2015), moot court competitions in law colleges and universities, and painting, quiz, and debate competitions. This online photography competition on human rights is part of these efforts.


Rights of Use: The Commission will have the right to use award-winning photographs on various aspects of human rights for awareness purposes. These will be uploaded on the Commission's website.


Collaboration: This activity is hosted in collaboration with MyGov.

 Guidelines


1. Submission: Through either the MyGov portal or the NHRC.

2. Eligibility: Open to Indian citizens aged 14 years and above.

3. Entry Fee: No entry fee required.

4. Profile Accuracy: Ensure that the MyGov profile is accurate and updated (including name, email ID, and mobile number) for further communication.

5. Deadline: Submissions beyond the last date and time will not be considered.

6. Photo Limit: A maximum of two photographs under two different themes can be submitted.

7. Originality: Photos must be originally shot by the applicant. Any infringement of copyright will result in rejection.


 Prizes


- 1st Prize: ₹15,000

- 2nd Prize: ₹10,000

- 3rd Prize: ₹5,000

- 7 Consolation Prizes: ₹2,000 each
