About Teach for India

Founded in 2008, Teach for India is dedicated to transforming the education landscape in India, inspired by the Teach for America model. Today, it includes 900 Fellows teaching 33,000 children and a network of 4,500+ Alumni impacting 50 million children across India.

What is the Teach for India Fellowship?

The Teach for India Fellowship is a prestigious two-year program where Fellows work full-time as teachers in underserved communities. By participating, you will gain essential teaching and leadership skills while contributing to meaningful educational change. After completing the program, you’ll join a vast Alumni network of change-makers, creating lifelong connections and driving educational reform.

Eligibility Criteria

You are eligible to apply if you:

• Will complete your graduation by June/July 2025.
• Are applying for the first time for the 2025 Fellowship cohort, since July 2024.
• Are a citizen of India or Overseas Citizen of India (OCI).

How to Apply?

1. Online Application: Share your achievements, experiences, and motivations for joining the Fellowship. Apply online using this link.
2. Phone Interview: A short 30-minute discussion may be scheduled based on your application.

Fellowship Benefits

• Monthly Stipend: ₹25,344.
• City Compensatory Allowance (CCA): ₹6,000 to ₹12,600 (depending on placement city).
• Health Insurance: Coverage up to ₹100,000.
• Reimbursements for work-related expenses (e.g. school supplies).
• Access to free counselling.
• Casual and sick leave, plus national and school holidays.
• A career fair post-Fellowship for further opportunities.
