Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Government of India in partnership with Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC).

About the Proposal

The DBT invites applications for the Amrit Team Grants, aimed at supporting innovative collaborative science projects that address ambitious national challenges through interdisciplinary efforts between academia and startups.

• Maximum Proposals Supported: 15
• Submission Deadline: 20th November 2024, 23:59 hrs

Objectives

The initiative seeks to foster excellent science by balancing high-quality research with societal needs. It encourages multiorganisational collaborations that address complex problems beyond the scope of a single laboratory.

Thematic Areas

Proposals are welcome in all domains of biotechnology, including:

• Healthcare
• Agriculture
• Plant Biotechnology
• Animal Biotechnology
• Biomanufacturing

Applications will be assessed based on relevance, risk, transformational impact, and scientific value.

Application Process

• Eligibility Criteria: Refer to the Amrit Grants - Program Guidelines for details on eligibility and application format.
• Submission: Applications must be submitted by the Coordinating Principal Investigator (PI) along with approvals from the competent authority of all participating organizations via the following portals:
  • For Academia-Academia Collaborations: DBT e-PROMIS portal
  • For Academia-Startup Collaborations: BIRAC portal

Note: Proposals submitted after the deadline or through any other mode will not be considered.
