The Ministry of Jal Shakti, in collaboration with MyGov India, is organizing a national-level painting competition to raise awareness about water conservation. The theme for this year is “Traditional Water Bodies of India.” Participants are encouraged to showcase India’s rich heritage of water conservation through their artistic creations.

About the Organizer

The Ministry of Jal Shakti, in partnership with MyGov India, aims to address critical water conservation challenges by fostering community participation and awareness. This initiative is part of the ‘Jal Sanchay Jan Bhagidari’ program, launched to enhance rainwater harvesting and ensure water sustainability nationwide.

The competition is designed to celebrate and highlight India’s traditional water bodies, focusing on historical water harvesting systems that represent the nation’s cultural and environmental legacy.

Benefits

1. Cash Prizes:
   • First Prize: ₹25,000
   • Second Prize: ₹20,000
2. Recognition: Winners will receive a certificate of appreciation.
3. Awareness: Contribute to promoting water conservation through art.

Open to all Indian citizens.

Instructions

1. Painting Requirements:
   • Sizes:
     • Landscape: 36 x 24 inches
     • Portrait: 24 x 36 inches
     • Square: 24 x 24 inches
   • Mediums: Watercolors, pen, ink, or a combination of these.
2. Participants can submit one painting for each size category.
3. Each painting should depict a traditional water body relevant to the participant’s State/UT.
4. Submissions must include the participant’s name, age, contact details, and State.
