DESCRIPTION:
The IHEs that demonstrate a commitment to developing or improving programmes that serve students' fundamental needs are supported by the Basic Needs for Postsecondary Students Program. There is mounting evidence that food and housing insecurity jeopardise the well-being of tens of thousands of undergraduate students across the country, perhaps lowering their chances of completing their degrees or certificates. According to a recent study of over 33,000 community college students, one-third of them were food insecure and might be termed hungry, while just over half were homeless. Homeless students made up 14% of the pupils polled. This is the problem that this program is directed to solve and uplift the people by supplying the bare minimum needs that are the rights of every human.
