CfP: 15th International Youth Conference on Transforming the World: Youth in Civic and Global Action [Jan 12]: Submit by Jan 11!

This National Youth Day, the Centre for Urban Studies, The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, Vadodara, Gujarat and KAASH Foundation’s Centre for Academic and Professional Development (CAPD) are organizing its “15th International Youth Conference on Transforming the World: Youth in Civic and Global Action” on Jan 12, 2022.

Concept Note

Since the last few decades, our world has been witnessing a demographic shift, with young people forming a significant part of a nation’s population.

Characterized as being dynamic, full of vigour and strength, the youth are able to face and quickly adapt to societal changes with each subsequent generation.

They also have the potential to help a nation find its rightful place in the world, if they are encouraged to integrate themselves into the already existing order or serve as a force to transform that order.

This highly resonates with Swami Vivekananda’s teachings and eternal belief in the power of the youth, and therefore, The Government of India commemorates the National Youth Day on 12th January every year.

On the international front too, the United Nations observes the International Youth Day annually in August. With these days, nations all over the world seek to increase and improve the opportunities available to young people for full, effective and constructive participation in the society.

Through this conference, they seek to deconstruct the actions of the youth across different paradigms like sports, politics, social media and economy, and also understand how, if better equipped with facilities like education, health and as social entrepreneurs; they can transform institutions and processes at local, regional and global levels.
