Job Description

The communications manager will work to develop and implement an effective communications strategy based on the target audience.

Besides working closely with the communications team for content generation and dissemination, he/she will be required to write, edit, and distribute content, including publications, press releases, website content, annual reports, speeches, and other marketing material that communicates the organization’s activities, products and/or services.

The job entails maintaining records of media coverage and collating analytics and metrics. It includes the dissemination of R&D information, particularly, via newsletters, presentations, and other mechanisms and outreach to the agencies supporting campus research, as required.

Eligibility

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Public relations, Communications, Marketing or related fields with 4 years of experience or
• MA/MSc/MBA with a minimum of 2 years of experience or
• PhD with appropriate experience

Experience:

• In science communication, outreach project management, administrative projects, and collaborating with various stakeholders is essential.
• In editing/copy editing, science writing, technical writing preferably in an academic institution/ technology or medical sector/ publishing house etc., is desirable.

Preferred skills:

• Language proficiency: must be able to speak, read, and write in English and Hindi. Proficiency in Gujarati is an added advantage.
• Knowledge of computers and desktop publishing software (InDesign/Photoshop or similar platforms).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, content management systems, and social media platforms.
• Good time management, organizational and communication skills.
• Must be a pro-active, passionate, and self-driven person with strong verbal, written, interpersonal and project management skills.
• Should be able to work independently and as part of a team.

Duration

Full-time for 1 year on a contract (with the possibility of extension based on performance)

Remuneration

INR 45,000 – 55,000 commensurate with qualification and experience.
