Call for Nominations: UNESCO-Madanjeet Singh Prize for the Promotion of Tolerance and Non-Violence 2022: Submit by June 5

 Nominations are invited from eligible candidates for the UNESCO-Madanjeet Singh Prize for the Promotion of Tolerance and the Non-Violence 2022.

About the Awards

UNESCO Headquarters, Paris has called for application for the 2022 UNESCO-Madanjeet Singh Prize for the Promotion of Tolerance and Non-Violence 2022.

The UNESCO-Madanjeet Singh Prize was also established in 1995 to mark the United Nations Year for Tolerance and the 125th anniversary of the birth of Mahatma Gandhi. Since 1996, it has been awarded biennially on 16 November, the International Day for Tolerance, and the anniversary of the founding of UNESCO.

In accordance with the Statutes of the Prize, nominations may be submitted by the Governments of Member States in consultation with their National Commissions, as well as by non-governmental organizations and foundations maintaining official relations with UNESCO and active in a field covered by thé Prize.

Prize

In 2022, the Prize will be awarded for the 13th time. It consists of a financial award of US$100,000 offered by thé Madanjeet Singh Foundation. The lauréate is selected by thé Prize jury.

Important Notes

  • No self-nomination can be considered. For example, an institution cannot nominate any person from its staff, and vice-versa.
  • Each government of a Member State or any other qualified nominator may present a maximum of two nominations if it considers them eligible for the Prize.
  • The nomination form must be completed in full in English or French, which are UNESCO’s working languages.
  • Nominators must sign or initial every page of the nomination form, date and, if nominators are institutions, place a stamp on its last page. The nominators are kindly invited to send the nomination form to UNESCO accompanied by a cover letter, duly signed.

How to Submit?

Nominations should be forwarded to the Indian National Commission for Cooperation with UNESCO (INCCU) latest by 5th June 2022 at the following address for further consideration and onward transmission to UNESCO Headquarters, Paris, France.
