About the Job

ONE RA position is available in the Systems Biology for Biofuel Group, ICGEB, New Delhi in a SERB-sponsored project titled “Transcriptional engineering of a fast-growing marine cyanobacterium Synechococcus sp. PCC 11901 towards efficient metabolites production”.

The position is available initially for 1 year and extendable depending upon satisfactory performance and funding availability. No hostel accommodation will be provided to the candidate selected for the position.

Job Description

The selected candidate will be responsible for preparation of knock-outs of selected genes and their combinations and conducting growth and physiology experiments as well as proteomics and metabolomics analyses of the generated transformants. Other responsibilities include:

• Work closely with collaborators in Banaras Hindu University and provide them with any assistance as needed. This may involve traveling to BHU occassionally.
• The candidate is expected to conduct the assigned tasks within the assigned deadlines with minimum/ remote supervision.
• Timely completion of experiments and preparation of reports for submission to the funding agency
• Coordinate with other group members to ensure that safety.

Qualifications

The incumbent should have Ph.D. in Life Sciences/ Biotechnology/equivalent or having at least 3 years of research experience after ME/M. Tech/M.Pharm. Prior experience in culturing, molecular biology, and Omics analyses of cyanobacteria will be preferred.

Salary

The salary for RA position will be as per SERB/DST norms.
