Swachh Sagar Surakshit Sagar Quiz 2022
About Quiz
India's more than 7,500 kilometers of coastline serves as a symbol of the size of our oceanic resources. Most significantly, the Indian Ocean is the only ocean that bears the name of a nation, namely India. Given this situation, India has undertaken a variety of initiatives that directly relate to the "Swachh Bharat" goal and have shown to be very helpful as a signatory to the UN "Coastal Clean Seas" campaign.Every year on the third Saturday in September, people all across the world celebrate "International Coastal Clean Up Day". Scientific data and information on marine litter will be gathered in a variety of matrices, including coastal waters, sediments, biota, and beaches.
The National Service Scheme (NSS), Indian Coast Guard(ICG), National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), Seema Jagran Manch, SFD, Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), Paryavaran Sanrakshan Gatividhi (PSG), and other social organizations and educational institutions will support this campaign, which will be led by the Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES).
The coastal cleanup campaign will be carried out at 75 beaches around the nation with 75 volunteers for every kilometer of coastline as part of this year's event, which also coincides with Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations in honor of the nation's 75th anniversary of independence.
The program, which was launched on July 5th, 2022, has three overarching strategic objectives that emphasize behavior modification for transformation and environmental protection.
1. Consume Responsibly
2. Segregate waste at home
3. Dispose Responsibly

On September 17, 2022 (International Coastal Cleanup Day), 75 beaches around India's 7,500+ miles of coastline will be cleaned as part of the campaign. With the greatest number of participants, it is the first-of-its-kind and longest-running coastal cleanup initiative in history. This campaign aims to change the way people behave on a large scale by bringing attention to the harm that plastic usage is doing to our marine life.
The purpose of this quiz is to assess the general knowledge of Indian citizens regarding our coastline, beaches, and the science underlying their habitat, environment, and the damaging effects of litter and pollution.
