About the Fellowship

The Ahimsa Fellowship programme aims at creating a network of effective animal protection leaders adept at working closely with state governments and district administrations to enforce animal protection laws in India.

Ahimsa Fellows will be intensively trained to understand in-depth the existing legal and policy regime. They will also be encouraged and supported to take up advocacy efforts that complement their skill set and interests across the broad field of Animal Protection.

The Fellowship begins in mid-August 2023.

Eligibility Criteria

• Graduation degree in any discipline.
• Good communication skills (English and a Second Local Language).
• Dedication to the cause of animal welfare/rights.
• Persistence, lateral & innovative thinking.
• Between 22 and 35 years old.
• Be available to commit to the entire 9 Month duration of the program.
• Indian Citizen.

Stipend

The stipend amount is meant to cover cost of executing assignments. Travel and accommodation for the residential contact classes will be covered by Team Ahimsa Fellowship and is NOT to be borne my the candidate. Any rare out of pocket expenses not included in the stipend are reimbursed on a case-by-case basis.

For the first 2 months out of the 9 months, fellows will be credited a stipend of Rs. 10,000 per month. Post that, they will received a stipend of Rs. 20,000 per month.
