About the ministry of communications

It is a union ministerial agency under the Government of India accountable for telecommunications and postal service. It was separated of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology on 19 July 2016. It contains of two departments viz. Department of Telecommunications and the Department of Posts. 

About vacancy 

• A consultant (technical) for period of 6 months (temporary basis) is required in Hyderabad 

• The contract can be further extended based on work to a maximum of 6 terms of 6 months each or up to 65 years of age whichever is earlier

• Candidate should not be more than 64 years of age 

• Any information and data should not be forwarded to any third party and the consultant is required to hand over the entire set of records of assignment to the office before expiry of his/her term

• Any advice in conflict with the interest of the office should not be given

• A selection panel will be appointed for 6 months and they will select the candidate

• Consultant would also have to do outdoor activities (normally within state of Telangana) 

• Contract can be terminated with prior notice of 30 days and the engagement will be on contract basis. 

• An appropriate transport allowance will be provided for commuting to and from workplace 

Eligibility

• Only candidates retired from CDA scale with a substantive grade of level 8 or 7 of the 7th CPC or equivalent IDA scale or holding analogous post need to apply

• Preference will be given to retired applicants with experience in DoT/BSNL/MTNL. However, BSNL/MTNL retires under VRS-2019 shall not be considered. 

Roles and responsibilities

• Service compliance- CAF Audit, EMR Audit, Service testing, rollout obligations etc 

• Technology- dedicated communication network, time synchronization of telecom network, disaster technology management, interconnect exchange, inspection of license network, advocacy and public awareness 

• Security- operations and maintenance of CMS/IMS, curbing illegal activities/ control over clandestine/illegal operations of telecom networks, analysis of CDR/SDR, and other security activities assigned from time to time

• Rural-rural connectivity for DBT, verification of USOF sites, RF coverage testing/telecom connectivity checking etc

• Admin, legal, PG and vigilance -admin PG, building, vigilance, court case and Misc, admin activities
