About NTA

The National Testing Agency (NTA) is a premier, specialist, autonomous, and self-sustained testing organization established to conduct entrance examinations for admission and fellowship in higher educational institutions. NTA aims to assess the competence of candidates for admissions and recruitment, ensuring the process matches research-based international standards, efficiency, transparency, and error-free delivery.

About the Initiative

The Government of India has constituted a high-level committee on June 22, 2024, under the chairmanship of Dr. K. Radhakrishnan, former Chairman of ISRO and Chairman of the Board of Governors at IIT Kanpur. This committee, comprising members from government, academia, and higher educational institutions, is tasked with making recommendations on the following aspects:

  1. Reforms in the mechanism of the examination process
  2. Improvement in data security protocols
  3. Structure and functioning of the National Testing Agency (NTA)

Who Can Submit?

The committee is seeking suggestions, views, and ideas from various stakeholders, especially students and parents.

What are Reforms in Exams?

The performance-based new-age reforms in the examination process aim to prepare each student for success in a knowledge-driven society. These reforms will create a proper mapping between program outcomes and assessment tools, leading to accurate and reliable measurement of student attainment.

Various administrative reforms will ensure speedy processing of examination steps, complaints, correspondence, and the issuance of certificates. Strict vigilance and penal measures will be implemented to curb lapses and malpractices in both theoretical and practical examinations.
