The Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation invites photographers from around the world to participate in the Environmental Photography Award 2025. This prestigious contest aims to celebrate the beauty of our planet and raise awareness about environmental challenges.

About the Foundation

The Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation is a global nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing Planetary Health. The Foundation was established to promote sustainable solutions for the protection of the environment and the promotion of biodiversity, oceans, and climate change solutions.

Award Details

Launched in 2021, the Environmental Photography Award recognizes photographers who use their creativity to promote Earth protection. The contest highlights the environmental challenges we face and the wonders of nature through five categories:

1. Polar Wonders
2. Into the Forest
3. Ocean Worlds
4. Humanity versus Nature
5. Change Makers: Reasons for Hope

Eligibility

• Open to photographers worldwide, aged 18 or older as of November 3, 2024.
• Entrants must abide by the competition rules and Photocrowd’s Terms and Conditions.
• Employees of the Foundation or Photocrowd are ineligible to participate.

Submission Rules

• Free entry.
• Photographers may submit up to 5 images per category (a maximum of 25 images total).
• Images must have been shot within the last five years (after September 1, 2019).
• Photos can be entered even if they have previously won other awards.
• Each image can only be submitted to one category.

Prizes

• Grand Prize Winner:
  • €5,000 grant
  • Invitation to the opening ceremony in Monaco (including travel and accommodation).
• Category Winners:
  • €1,000 grant for each of the five category winners.
• Public Award & Students' Choice:
  • €500 grant each, plus a special invitation to the SEK International University’s Amazon Research Station in Ecuador for the Public Award winner.
• All shortlisted photographers:
  • Featured in the Environmental Photography Award 2025 exhibition in Monaco and on its international tour.
  • Published in the Environmental Photography Award 2025 book (including two complimentary copies).
