Additional Information on Eligibility: The Lead Applicant or Co-Applicant must be the local government having jurisdiction. A Public Housing Agency (PHA), a local authority, or a tribal entity can be the Lead Applicant. A local government, a PHA, a tribal authority, or the owner of the target HUD-assisted home could all be Co-Applicants. Individuals, foreign businesses, and sole proprietorships are not eligible to apply for or receive awards under this announcement.
DESCRIPTION:
Choice Neighborhoods Implementation Grants help to fund the implementation of comprehensive community redevelopment plans that aim to fulfil three main objectives 1 Replacement of deteriorating public and subsidized housing with high-quality mixed-income housing that is well-managed and responsive to community needs.; 2.) People: Improve employment and income outcomes, health, and children's education outcomes for households living in the target housing; and 3.) Neighborhood: Create the circumstances for public and private reinvestment in disadvantaged neighborhoods to give the amenities and feeling of place that these communities lack.
