About the Competition
This globally popular IMA (Institute of Management Accountants) Student Case Competition invites college or university students in India to think strategically and stretch their analytical skills to solve the business case, “Maximizing Customer Value at the Cage.”
This is your opportunity to make your mark, showcase your business acumen, and present in front of leading business professionals. Six teams will be selected for the India finals – two teams from South, two teams from West, and two teams from North and East regions. The first place winning team will receive an all-expenses paid trip to the Grand Finals in Dubai, U.A.E., to compete against winning teams from Middle East, Europe and Southeast Asia.

Who should Participate?
- Form a team of 3-5 members
- Present your best strategic analysis
- Submit your case for a chance to win great prizes
- Full-time undergraduate or postgraduate students in India are eligible to enter the 2022 IMA India Student Case Competition.
- Team members may be from different academic programs but must all be from the same university/college.
- Each team must have a faculty advisor from the same university/college, and each team must appoint a team leader.
- No more than 50% of team members may be master’s degree candidates, and no doctoral degree candidates may be included.
Submission Process
Each case competition entry will present a solution to this year’s case, which has been published in the August 2021 edition of Strategic Finance.
- Each entry must:
- Complete online Submission form – No handwritten forms accepted
- Sign and upload the Ethical Standards and Statement of Compliance form – The signatures must be handwritten
- Submit a PowerPoint presentation (not PDF) that contains your case analysis
- Your PowerPoint Presentation
- All case analyses will be submitted online on or before Sunday, January 16, 2022. Late submissions will not be accepted. Please note:
- To maintain anonymity in the judging process, the file name should not be related to IMA, your school, or a teammate’s name. Do not include the above identifying information in any slides in the presentation.
- Must not exceed forty (40) slides
Prize
Each team member and faculty advisor will receive a certificate of participation. The top three teams will each receive a plaque, which will be sent to their college/university.
- First Prize
- A US$500 Amazon gift voucher will be awarded to each team member.
- Opportunity to engage in a virtual conversation with Jeff Thomson, CMA, CSCA, CAE, IMA President and CEO.
- Winning team will receive an all-expense paid trip to Dubai, U.A.E., to present their winning case during the Grand Finals challenge against winning teams from Europe, Middle East, and Southeast Asia.
- Second Prize
- A US$250 Amazon gift voucher will be awarded to each team member.
- Connection with a mentor in a local chapter.
- Third Prize
- A US$150 Amazon gift voucher will be awarded to each team member.
- Connection with a mentor in a local chapter.
