Guest Faculty (Dept of Music) at Panjab University, Chandigarh [3 Positions]: Apply by Dec 27

Applications are invited for Guest Faculty (Dept of Music) at Panjab University, Chandigarh for the year 2021. The last date of application is 27 December.

Position

• Guest Faculty (Music Hindustani Vocal)- 2 Posts
• Guest Faculty (Music Instrumental)- 1 Post

Eligibility

Good academic record with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) at the Master’s degree level, in a relevant subject or an equivalent degree from an Indian/Foreign University.

Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) for lecturers conducted by the UGC, CSIR, or similar test accredited by the UGC.

Notwithstanding anything contained in sub-clauses (i) and (ii) to this Clause 4.4.2.1, candidates, who are, or have been awarded a Ph.D Degree in accordance with the University Grant Commission (Minimum standard and Procedure for Award of Ph.D Degree) Regulations, 2009, shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or equivalent positions in Universities/Colleges/Institutions.

NET/SLET/SET shall also not be required for such Masters Programmes in disciplines for which NET/SLET/SET is not conducted.

OR

A traditional and a professional artist with highly commendable professional achievement in the concerned subject, who should have:
(i) Studied under noted/ reputed traditional masters and has through knowledge to explain the subject concerned;
(ii) A high grade AIR/TV; and
(iii) Ability to explain the logical reasoning of the subject concerned and adequate knowledge to teach theory with illustration in that discipline.

The applicants are required to fill the application form attached herewith and submit the application form duly filled in along with the attested copies of the academic testimonials/certificates to the Chairperson, Department of Music, Panjab University, Chandigarh, PIN 160015 in hard copy format or by email on music[at]pu.ac.in by combing application and all certificates latest by 27.12.2021 upto 04:00 PM.

Salary

Rs.1000/- per lecture subject to maximum of Rs.25000/- per month.
