Cultural Studies is an in-depth way of introspecting into the various facets of culture within a society. It is an interdisciplinary area of inquiry that draws from the humanities, the social sciences, and the arts and involves an analysis of our everyday activities and the meaning these activities convey during a specific period. As a result of globalization, excellence in the field of science and technology, environmental changes and the proliferation of social media culture has become something ever evolving and inclusive. Therefore the academic community needs to be aware of the ideological forces, power structures, economical aspects and social structures that pave way to the various angles through which we view our culture.

This national seminar intends to provide a roadmap for the participants about the new trends in the field of Cultural Studies and aims at making them think critically about the kind of life they are leading in their society and the role they play in it.
