23rd JQA International Environmental Children’s Drawing Contest: Submit by May 31

Applications are invited for the 23rd JQA International Environmental Children’s Drawing Contest. The last for submission of entries is May 31, 2023.

About the Contest

Since 1999, Japan Quality Assurance Organization (JQA) and International Certification Organization Network (IQNET) have been hosting the JQA International Environmental Children’s Drawing Contest for children aged 7 to 15 years old from around the world, supported by UNICEF Tokyo Office.

So far, the contest has been held 21 times and this year they’ve had over 6,390 entries from a record-breaking 61 countries and regions. In total, they have received more than 340,000 drawings up to now. Full of imagination and artistic sensitivity, children drew pictures about nature and animals, their families, and the surrounding area. The pictures also contain the message about the global environment, beyond borders, and differences in their background cultures and languages.

As the organizer, they hope that this contest provides the children an opportunity to think about the global environment, by expressing their inspiration from nature’s bounty. At the same time, they believe that the efforts to protect the global environment will be further encouraged through the appreciation of such children’s drawings.

Eligibility Criteria

Children aged 7 through 15.

Awards & Prizes

48 winners will receive special memorabilia. All entrants will receive a participation prize.

Application Requirements

• Paper size: 257×364mm or smaller.
• Drawing tools: Draw freehand with any type of paint, pastel, etc.
• Please print out the Application Form, fill in your details (in English only, and preferably in Block Letters), and glue it to the back of your drawing.

If your private courier rejects POB destinations, please send your drawings to this postal address.

Submission Deadline

The artwork must reach us by May 31, 2023.
