Dear River Godavari,

I hope this makes you feel better and regain your lost glory due to river pollution. Dear mother we your children have never thought of your health and always forgot the profound role you play in shaping the landscapes and lives that you touch.

In the Trimbakeshwar Hills where your origin and all the way to Bey of Bengal, millions of lives you change and tons of acres you cultivate, 6 different states you unite and reminding us of the intricate dance of life. We your children have the privilege to stand on your river banks, fell the cool breeze that flows over our legs, and whispers of the stories you unite. Yet, we are blind and can’t recognize your pain, deforestation, pollution and many unsustainable practices are deteriorating your water quality. 

It pains me to witness the toll of human actions on your pristine beauty. Mother, you are not alone we are always ready to help you. You are the heartbeat of the future, oxygen for development and backbone for the entire country. As your beloved children it is our duty to protect you, now on ways we will stay vigilant, think before spoiling you, and protect this beautiful stream for many more years. Steps I take might be small but by motivating millions of people we can achieve your wellbeing.

As I send this letter with the hope and heavy heart, it reaches you in spirit, I express my gratitude for the life you breathe into the lands you touch. May your waters continue to flow freely, and harmony be flourish all over your coast line. Thankyou for being a string of life, god of harmony and protecting us from all problems. You are the true mother to all mothers who believe in you.
