Registrations are now open for the Biotechnology Laboratory Membership 2024-25 at Birla Industrial and Technological Museum (BITM), Kolkata. Limited seats are available.

About BITM

Established on May 2, 1959, under the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR), BITM in Kolkata is the pioneer of the science museum movement in India. Inspired by the Deutsches Museum in Munich, Dr. B C Roy, then Chief Minister of West Bengal, envisioned a similar institution in India. With support from Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru and industrialist Shri G D Birla, who donated Birla Park for this cause, the museum was inaugurated in 1959, marking a significant milestone in India's scientific engagement.

Membership Details

The Biotechnology Laboratory at BITM offers hands-on activities and inquiry-based projects for the academic session from July 2024 to June 2025. Admissions are on a first-come, first-served basis, and payment for admission is non-refundable.

• School Students: Class IX to XII
• UG/PG Students: Any branch of Biological Sciences

• Please note - Incomplete forms will not be accepted.
• Fees for school students - ₹5000 (for 1 year)
• Fees for college students - ₹6000 (for 6 month) & ₹10000 (for 1 year)
• Register early. Seats are limited. Admissions will be confirmed only after successful registration, interview, acceptance from lab-in-charge and fee submission.
