PRERANA One Week Residential Program by Ministry of Education [Class 9-12 Students, Experience Viksit Bharat]: Register Now!!

The Ministry of Education, India, is inviting registrations for the PRERANA Residential Program 2024. This program is open to all students from Class IX to XII.

About the Program

PRERANA is an experiential learning program developed to empower the youth of India. Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s first school in Vadnagar, Gujarat, is being transformed into a model school called "PRERANA" to serve as an inspiration for students nationwide. This program focuses on value-based education, aligning with the NEP 2020, and uses the latest technology and hands-on activities to internalize these values.

Duration and Participants

• Duration: One week
• Participants: 20 students (10 boys and 10 girls) from various parts of the country each week
• This program is open to all students from Class IX to XII.

Venue

The program takes place at a historic school established in 1888 by Maharaja Sayajirao Gaekwad in Vadnagar, Gujarat. This school is notable as the place where Prime Minister Narendra Modi began his educational journey.

Curriculum

The curriculum is designed to be innovative and engaging, focusing on nine value-based themes:

• Swabhiman and Vinay
• Shaurya and Sahas
• Parishram and Samarpan
• Karuna and Seva
• Vividhta and Ekta
• Satyanishtha and Shuchita
• Navachar and Jigyasa
• Shraddha and Vishwas
• Swatantrata and Kartavya

Students will also visit archaeological and historical sites in Vadnagar and learn about the living traditions of other states in India.

Activities

• Morning: Yoga and meditation followed by breakfast focusing on Mission LIFE activities
• Sessions: Experiential learning connected to value themes
• Afternoon: Visits to archaeological and historical sites
• Evening: Activities such as music sessions, film screenings, discussions, and talent shows

At the end of the program, students will exhibit their creative solutions for common societal problems.

Participation Eligibility

Students from State Government schools, Private schools, Kendriya Vidyalayas, and Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas are eligible to participate.

Selection Process

Students participate in the ‘PRERANA Utsav’ at their own schools. Two selected students from each school then compete in a district-level PRERNA Utsav at a nodal JNV/KV for final selection.
