The Independent Schools Examinations Board (ISEB) invites school students aged 7–16 years to participate in the Time to Write 2025 Creative Writing Competition. This year’s theme is ‘Light,’ encouraging young writers to explore their creativity. Winners will have their stories transformed into illustrated books and receive exciting prizes alongside their schools.

About the Program

Time to Write 2025 is a platform for young writers to showcase their storytelling talents. The competition includes four categories based on age, with tailored word limits for each. Participants can craft stories individually and stand a chance to see their creativity come to life as illustrated books.

Eligibilities

• Open to students aged 7–16 years as of February 2, 2025.
• Stories must be written by individual participants (no team submissions).
• Open to all schools, including international schools.

Instructions

1. Choose the appropriate category based on age group:
   • Years 3 and 4: Up to 500 words.
   • Years 5 and 6: Up to 650 words.
   • Years 7, 8, and 9: Up to 750 words.
   • Years 10 and 11: Up to 1000 words.
2. Write a story inspired by the theme ‘Light.’
3. Submit the story online through the designated link.
