About JBNSTS: Jagadis Bose National Science Talent Search (JBNSTS), Kolkata, is an Autonomous Registered Society under the West Bengal Society Registration Act XXI of 1860. This organization is promoted by the Government of West Bengal and administered by a Governing Body with representatives from the State Government, Academics, and Industry. Conceptualized in 1958 by visionaries such as Dr. B C Roy and Sir Jehangir Ghandy, JBNSTS was initiated to commemorate the Birth Centenary Celebration of India’s first modern scientist, Acharya J C Bose. The program was inaugurated by Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru and enjoys the status of a special institution as declared by the Department of Higher Education, Government of West Bengal.

Scholarship Details:

• Applications are invited for the Senior Talent Search Test / Senior Bigyani Kanya Medha Britti 2024 for Class 12 Passed Students by Jagadis Bose National Science Talent Search.
• The scholarship amount is Rs. 4000 per month along with an annual book grant of Rs. 5000 for 4 to 5 years, depending on the course duration (until completion of B.Tech/BE/MBBS/BS-MS/M.Sc).
• All selected scholars will receive a scholarship certificate.
• Top 10 boys and top 10 girls ranked in the examination will be awarded with laptops.
• Scholars will have opportunities to engage in various enrichment programs, diverse workshops, research practices, seminars, science camps, and research projects.

Who Can Apply?

• Students who have passed or appeared in the (10+2) Board examination (WBCHSE/CBSE/ISC/Visva-Bharati Board) in the year 2024 and are studying or aspiring to study Science (Hons.) in West Bengal.
• General and Diploma, Nursing course students are not eligible.
• Eligible courses include BS-MS/Engineering/Medicine.

Test Pattern:

• The Senior Talent Search Test / Senior Bigyani Kanya Medha Britti is a 3-hour examination with full marks of 100.

Syllabus:

• 12th standard examination subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology (questions from any 3 subjects are to be answered).
