Gokul Global University, Siddhpur, Gujarat, in collaboration with the Nucleus of Learning and Development, is pleased to announce an Online National Faculty Development Program (FDP) on “Embracing Gardner’s Multiple Intelligence Theory in Classroom Teaching.” Scheduled to take place from July 22 to July 27, 2024, this program aims to enhance teaching methodologies by integrating Howard Gardner's Multiple Intelligence Theory into classroom practices.

Overview of the Faculty Development Program
Understanding the various ways individuals process and interpret information is crucial for effective teaching and learning. This FDP focuses on Howard Gardner’s theory of multiple intelligences, which identifies eight distinct learning styles. Participants will gain insights into practical approaches to engage students by catering to their diverse intelligences, thereby enhancing the overall learning experience in the classroom.

The FDP will run from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm each day, covering the following topics:
Resource Person
Dr. Thilip Kumar Moorthy from Malaysia will lead the sessions. Dr. Moorthy is an Assistant Professor in the Department of English Studies, Faculty of Social Science and Humanities (FSSH), at Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology (TARUMT) in Malaysia. His expertise will provide valuable insights into the application of multiple intelligences in classroom teaching.
Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this FDP, participants will be able to:
- Logical-Mathematical Intelligence: Engage students who excel in logical reasoning and enjoy working with numbers and experiments.
- Visual-Spatial and Verbal-Linguistic Intelligences: Support students who are adept at visualizing and manipulating objects mentally and have a strong affinity for language.
- Naturalist Intelligence: Cater to students who appreciate and are sensitive to nature, fostering their interest in environmental exploration.
- Bodily-Kinesthetic Intelligence: Enhance the learning experience for students who excel in physical activities and learn best through hands-on participation.
- Musical-Rhythmic Intelligence: Utilize rhythm and music as learning tools for students with a strong sense of pitch and rhythm.
- Interpersonal and Intrapersonal Intelligences: Facilitate learning for students who excel in group settings and discussions, as well as those who prefer self-reflection and independent study.
