 Applications are invited for JRF (Physical Sciences) Under DST Funded Project at JNU, New Delhi for the year 2022. The last date of application is 9 May.

Applications are invited for a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in a Department of Science & Technology (DST) funded Indo-South Africa Joint project (DST/INT/South Africa/P-02/2021) entitled “Design, preparation and characterization of materials for tunable anomalous thermal expansion and anomalous compressibility” under the supervision of Dr. Dinabandhu Das, School of Physical Sciences, Jawaharlal Nehru University.

Eligibility

Essential Qualification: The applicant must have M.Sc. degree in Chemistry (Organic /Inorganic) from UGC recognized University with a minimum of 60% marks. Candidate must qualify CSIR-UGC NET/GATE. The candidate should have good analytical skills.

Desirable Qualification: Candidate with experience on synthesis of organic/inorganic compound and the knowledge of crystallography are highly desired.


Main objectives of the project
  • Design, synthesis and characterization of new organic and metal-organic compounds.
  • Crystallization of these compounds to study thermal expansion and compressibility by variable temperature X-ray diffraction experiment.
  • Analysis of the data and rationalize the problem

Fellowship/Salary

As per DST Notification No. SR/S9/Z-08/2019 dated 30th January 2019.

Duration

The selected candidate will be appointed on purely temporary basis, initially for a period of one year and renewable each year subject to satisfactory performance for a maximum of three years.
