About the Contest

The Vertical Magazine 2023 Photo Contest is live. Submit your best work to compete in three categories; Action Shots, Beauty, and In the Cabin, as well as the Skip Robinson Award for the depiction of an aircraft engaged in a military or public service mission.

Eligibility Criteria

The contest is open to any photographer in the world, amateur or professional, who is at least 18 years of age. Only original photos of helicopters or tiltrotors taken by the entrant within the past 18 months (January 2022 to present) will be considered. You may enter work in any and all categories. Incomplete entry forms, such as those without telephone numbers, will be disqualified.

Prizes

  • Grand Prize: $1,000 cash + featured on the cover of the December 2023 issue of Vertical (One Winner).
  • First Place: $750 cash (One winner in each category).
  • Second Place: $500 cash (One winner in each category).
  • Third Place: $250 cash (One winner in each category).
  • Skip Robinson Award: $250 cash (Presented to an outstanding photograph depicting an aircraft that works in military or para public operations).

Submission Guidelines

  • Only high-resolution digital files will be accepted.
  • Images must be 300DPI and a minimum of 8 x 10 inches in size.
  • Digital images may be submitted in .jpg or .jpeg format.
  • Uploaded images should be 30MB and under in size. If there are issues uploading, please check the file size, format.
  • Submissions will not be accepted via any other means.

Important Note

Photos will only appear in the online gallery after being approved by a photo contest administrator. Vertical Magazine reserves the right to disqualify any photos that it deems irrelevant or inappropriate, or which appear to show unsafe operating practices. Entrants who supply incomplete descriptions may be asked for additional information before their photos are added to the competition.
