About work duties

  • Run/translate the data model into physical objects. Permission management (granting, revoking and maintaining user groups) for upgrades to versions 10 and 11.
  • Analyze the amount of data and the required space.
  • Knowledge of creating, modifying, and deleting database objects, including tablespaces, tables, indexes, store procedures, and triggers.
  • Experience working with CLOBs, BLOBs, XML, large objects and helper objects.
  • Knowledge of DB object maintenance tools including run statistics, backup, restore and X load.
  • Experience with IBM ADMIN and QMF/Omegamon tools.

Required technical and professional knowledge.

  • Oracle DBA with a minimum of three years of experience and expertise in PL/SQL Database installation and configuration, database backup and recovery, high availability, disaster recovery, performance tuning, etc.
  • 2-5 years of mainframe application DBA experience (physical and logical) z/OS DB2, Omegamon, QMF, SPUFI, data modeling (startup knowledge), good DB2 analytical skills and at least two years of DASD estimation experience.

Preferred Professional and technical knowledge

  • Good experience with a scripting language.
  • DBA certification for DB2.
